I began my musical training in traditional South Indian classical music under the well-known maestro, Mr.O.S.Subramaniam, New Delhi. I am also trained in South Indian Classical Dance under Dr. Sudha Maheshwari, New Delhi. I received my advanced training in music with the renowned virtuoso Dr.S.Rajaram, Director of Kalakshetra, College of Fine Arts, Madras.

I received my first Master's degree in English Literature from Stella Maris College, Madras, and recently received my second Master's Degree in World Music Performance at California Institute of the Arts. While at Cal Arts, I studied German opera, Persian, American folk, Indonesian, and African music, as well as African dance.

In addition to my musical talents, I have hosted conferences in Madras, and have performed lead roles in musicals and plays. My background and abilities as a musical performer and dancer have afforded me many opportunities to perform in a variety of genres of performance, incorporating and even combining various forms, from Classical Indian to Urban Hip Hop. Possessing a natural talent for being in the spotlight (so I have been told!), my true passion for popular music is enhanced by both my command of the stage, and powerful conveyance of emotion to the audiences.
